Kaizer Chiefs are keen to cut their losses with a recent signing. He’s struggled to stay fit and break through into the side.

Chiefs to ditch Sam with PSL interest

According to Soccer-Laduma, Magesi are confident they can sign Bongani Sam from Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the campaign.

“Magesi FC are sure they will be in the PSL next season and that’s when they will renegotiate for Bongani Sam to be signed. That’s their plan at the moment. Though they could not sign him in January they are still holding hopes that they could sign him in the next transfer window. So, it’s not like that deal is completely out of the question. They are still set to sign him though it will depend on whether they are still in the PSL or not. That will be the main deciding factor as things stand now,” said their source.

Orlando Pirates fans become Kaizer Chiefs supporters

The Brazilians hold a commanding 12-point lead over their only credible challengers for the title, Orlando Pirates. The Buccaneers have three games in hand, but recent history suggests that Sundowns will have enough in the tank. This coming weekend, Pirates fans will temporarily wear their Chiefs hats and hope the Glamour Boys can take points off the runaway leaders. Kickoff between Sundowns and Chiefs is on Saturday 01 March at 15:30. Pirates need Sundowns to drop points at regular intervals in the next few rounds of action; they’d see now as a perfect time to start.

Sundowns vs Chiefs team news

After his straight red card in Chiefs’ demoralising 4-1 defeat at SuperSport, Uruguayan playmaker Gaston Sirino will play no part against his old club Sundowns. The Brazilians host Amakhosi on Saturday 01 March at 15:30. Wandile Duba and Ashley Du Preez are long-term absentees while Dillan Solomons, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Edmilson Dove are also all unlikely to feature.

Predicted starting XI vs Sundowns

Bvuma; Blom, Miguel, Dortley, Cross; Cele, Maart; Lilepo, Shabalala, Mmodi; Morris.
