Kaizer Chiefs supporters are close to welcoming a new center forward at Amakhosi.

RUBEN DEL CAMPO NOT JOINING KAIZER CHIEFS

As reported in recent days, the Glamour Boys have targetted three strikers: Ruben Del Campo from Switzerland, Tashreeq Morris from Mitchells Plain Cape Town, and Glody Lilepo from the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to iDiski Times’ latest report, coach Nasreddine Nabi has decided against the pursuit of Del Campo in favour of Morris. Additionally, Kaizer Chiefs are still on the hills of Lilepo.

“Kaizer Chiefs’ deal with Swiss striker Ruben del Campo was called off in the final stages after a change of heart from the technical team. Chiefs instead opted for Tashreeq Morris and are still chasing DR Congo international Glody Lilepo.”

EDMILSON DOVE TO LEAVE KAIZER CHIEFS?

As you may know, the 30-year-old left-central defender and left-back has been out for this entire season since he suffered a terrible ankle injury during pre-season in Turkey. According to a surprise report by Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs will not renew Dove’s contract when it ends in June.

“There was hope at some time that things could maybe work out for him but at this point in time his future at Chiefs will be coming to an end at the end of the season when his contract expires,” a source said to the publication. “The team has reached that decision looking at the situation around the defenders and mainly left back that he is apparently not needed. The club is believed to have communicated with the player about their decision and since he is still recovering from the injury then they will wait until the end of the season before they part ways.

An additional source added: “Dove would not be the only player whose contract is not renewed at the end of the season. The club is trying to cut down their squad numbers and that’s why Dove and other players whose contracts are coming to an end in June could be playing for the last time for the club. But all that will be communicated before the end of the season. So more players are expected to leave the village in June.”

SAMUKELO KABINI TO AMAKHOSI?

Another day, another Kaizer Chiefs transfer report.

Have the Glamour Boys given up on Fawaaz Basadien? According to Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi are targeting TS Galaxy’s 21-year-old left-back Kabini, a former Orlando Pirates development player. “Interest has been shown in Samukelo Kabini by Kaizer Chiefs,” the report said. “There have been talks about it, although there isn’t anything official at the moment. But Kabini could be the next player from TS Galaxy to leave after Thato Khiba’s move to Stellenbosch,” the source concluded.
