Matriculants of 2024 are looking forward to getting their NSC Matric results, which they may use to apply for further studies or in their job applications.

Matric results 2024

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has issued a reminder to the Matric class of 2024 to collect their National Senior Certificate (NSC) results from their designated examination centres when results are released in January.

“Come get your original statement of your matric results from the 14th of January 2025,” the department announced on social media platform X.

The release of matric results will be available to the public on 14 January 2025.

Minister of Basic Education Siviwe Gwarube is scheduled to announce the results on January 13, with the official release to students following on 14 January.

Access Results

For those who prefer accessing their results online, the Department of Basic Education will publish the results on their official website at 06h00. Visit the DBE website: www.education.gov.za.

To log in and view results, the candidate will need their exam number.

Those can’t go to the school or visit the website, may access their results directly on their mobile phone by using a USSD service code or SMS.

To access Matric results via SMS, send your exam number to 35658 and you will receive further instructions via SMS.

Results can also be accessed through USSD by dialing 12035658# on your phone. Wait for further prompts to register and access your results on the result release date.

Please note that the USSD service only applies to the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations and not the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examinations.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES:

After you’ve collected your Matric certificate, you can start applying for bursaries. You can also attach a certified copy of your NSC Certificate with your CV when applying for jobs or learnerships.

Chairperson of the Information Regulator, Pansy Tlakula, stated that the results are accessed only by the learners without compromising their personal information.

“The DBE only has to give the matric results to the relevant learners or their authorised guardians or parents. The Information Regulator and the learners stand to suffer harm by the publication of the 2024 matric results in the media,” Tlakula said.

If there is anything you need to query about your NSC results, please be sure to submit your query within 30 days after the release of results (and not later).
