Mbalula loses patience with ‘liar, unreliable’ Jacob Zuma

African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has labelled the party’s former leader Jacob Zuma as a mischievous and ridiculous liar who thrives on disunity.

Mbalula’s sentiments come as the Jacob Zuma Foundation confirmed that the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party leader’s lawyers have sent a letter to Mbalula demanding the reinstatement of his membership by 31 January.

MBALULA TAKES A SWIPE AT JACOB ZUMA

Earlier on Wednesday, Jacob Zuma Foundation spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi said the letter outlines significant procedural and substantive concerns regarding the processes undertaken by ANC’s national disciplinary committee (NDC) and the national disciplinary committee of appeal (NDCA).

Manyi said these issues highlight the irregularities that they believe an independent legal review would likely find invalid.

“Jacob Zuma has requested that the ANC address this matter and announce his reinstatement by 31 January 2025. Should this not occur, he may have no choice but to explore legal remedies to protect his constitutional and contractual rights as a loyal member of the ANC for 65 years,” Manyi explained.

On the same day, Mbalula told journalists in Cape Town that Zuma had an opportunity to send his letter many days ago but he chose to send it on the day the ANC celebrates its 113th anniversary.

“That’s how he operates. He is a ridiculous, uncouth and ridiculous old man who basically thrives on disunity for his own interests, that’s what he does. He doesn’t serve South Africa, he doesn’t serve the ANC and he doesn’t serve our people. He only serves himself, no one else but himself.

“His days of misleading our people are numbered because they will see him for who he is…he is a liar, he’s unreliable and only serves himself,” Mbalula said.
