As a Skills Development Intern, you will play a vital role within the Learning & Performance team. This internship will provide extensive exposure to various aspects of skills development and contribute to enhancing your understanding of Human Resources and Learning and Development. This is a unique opportunity to acquire practical experience and engage in meaningful work that supports the overall success of our organization.
Role Purpose
Your primary responsibility as a Skills Development Intern will be to provide a robust administrative and operational assistant function. You will offer critical support to the Skills Development Manager and Learning & Performance team, ensuring that the administrative processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role is vital in helping our team maintain high standards of performance and adhere to key legislative requirements, particularly with regard to B-BBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) compliance.
Requirements
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A completed Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Learning and Development, or a related field.
- Prior experience in dealing with learnerships, internships, and bursaries is highly advantageous.
- A proven track record in tracking and reporting statistics, which is essential for measuring the effectiveness of our skills development initiatives.
- A natural affinity for administrative tasks with a strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel and presentation software.
- A methodical, analytical mindset to navigate the complexities of skills development.
- The ability to solve problems and work effectively under pressure, while consistently meeting deadlines.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Skills Development Intern will engage in various tasks, including but not limited to the following:
- WSP and ATR Exposure: Gain valuable insights into the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) processes, which are crucial for compliance and reporting.
- Skills Development Administration Support: Assist in various administrative functions associated with skills development, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Client Focus: Demonstrate a client-focused approach, catering to both internal stakeholders (employees, management) and external partners (training providers, auditors).
- Coordinate B-BBEE Audit Meetings: Take the lead in scheduling and organizing meetings relevant to B-BBEE audits, including providing logistical support to the sample divisions being audited.
- Compile Portfolios of Evidence: Accurately compile portfolios of evidence necessary for various transformation audits and submit them to relevant stakeholders, showcasing our commitment to compliance and progress.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain effective monitoring systems for skills development and compile regular reporting measures to track progress and achievements.
- Data Management: Ensure precise capturing and formatting of information on templates and systems, allowing for easily accessible data for Skills Development purposes.
- Legislation Compliance: Guarantee that all documentation adheres to B-BBEE legislation and regulations, thereby supporting our compliance efforts.
- Implement Skills Development Initiatives: Actively assist in the rollout of various skills development initiatives, contributing to the growth and development of all employees.
