Manager: Spatial Planning and Land Use Management
Department : Community Services
Position : Manager: Spatial Planning and Land Use Management
Salary : R 619 171.00 – R 803 684.00 p.a. (Task Grade 16)
Requirements:-
A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Town and Regional Planning or equivalent
4 years relevant experience
Be registered as a Professional Planner or in the process of obtaining such registration
Be able to deal with extreme pressure and stressful situations
Be able to manage crisis situations successfully
Valid driver’s license
Duties:-
Develop project briefs as a guide document for projects
Develop and submit the final Spatial Development Framework or precinct plan
Monitor the implementation of the strategies from the Spatial Development Framework
and precinct plans
Manage the implementation of the Land Use Scheme through land use and land
development applications and the Land Use Scheme register
Design suitable GIS Databases and attribute tables for data analysis
Monitor the statutory required databases on the GIS system by capturing information
in order to ensure that information is up to date and available at all times
Plan for future settlements and reception areas while formal settlements are being
established
Advise on submitted building plan applications in aspect relating to town planning
Give inputs on approval of building plans
Practitioner: Waste & Environment
Department : Community Services
Position : Practitioner: Waste & Environment
Salary : R 423 658.00 – R 549 935.00 p.a. (Task Grade 13)
Requirements:-
A recognized National Diploma in Environmental Studies/Sciences and Management
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
Registration with a professional body will be an added advantage
Must be able to demonstrate practical experience of parks, recreation, beautification,
waste management recycling programmes Must be willing to perform work outside of the normal working hours which may also
require working over weekends
Good communication and organizing skills
Valid driver’s license
Duties:-
Facilitate the implementation of procedures for disposal of waste materials in
accordance with government regulations
Draft compliance monitoring plans for Landfill site
Coordinate the design and implementation of waste disposal systems
Identify occupational health & safety interventions at Landfill site to address
compliance shortcomings
Conduct inspections in waste disposal sites and provide advice to waste management
section
Liaise with Law Enforcement in enforcing compliance towards illegal mining activities
across the municipality
Monitor the execution of beautification and maintenance of municipal parks, amenities
and cemeteries in response to the organizational strategy
Monitor the maintenance of parks and cemeteries through conducting site visits
Officer: Housing, Land and Estate
Department : Planning & Development
Position : Officer: Housing, Land and Estate
Salary : R 318 717.00 – R 413 709.00 p.a. (Task Grade 11)
Requirements:-
A recognized National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning/Civil Engineering
A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
Registration with a professional body will be an added advantage
Be able to work long hours to meet the deadlines
Valid driver’s license
Duties:-
Coordinate rural and integrated housing development projects through the entire
project lifecycle
Facilitate disaster emergency housing applications
Prepare building plans to be submitted to the Department of Human Settlements for
proposed low cost housing projects
Report on implementation outcomes with regards to project related interventions and
work in progress
Implement procedures to administer contracts and the processing of completion
certificates and verify outcomes prior to approving payment certificates
Validate list of housing applications, table report for consideration and submit to
immediate supervisor for further processing
Address complex technical issues and disseminate professional advice associated with
the objectives and outcomes of the functionality
