Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Provide visionary leadership to the school’s cricket programme, ensuring its success across all skill levels.
- Maintain and enhance the school’s reputation for cricketing excellence.
- Ensure coaching of the highest standard and ability to upskill other coaches.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and the broader cricketing community.
- Work collaboratively with school management to align the cricket programme with the school’s overall mission and values.
- Oversee the organisation and execution of cricket events, training sessions, and matches.
Key Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
- Be highly motivated, innovative, and passionate about cricket.
- Have a proven track record of success in high-performance cricket environments.
- Demonstrate the ability to cater to the diverse needs of players at varying skill levels.
- Possess strong organising capabilities.
- Be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hold a South African Level 3 Coaching Certificate (or equivalent) – this qualification will be a strong recommendation.

In an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced educationalist to lead the DSG into the second quarter of the 21st Century.
REPORTING TO THE DSG COUNCIL, THE HEAD WILL
• Set the academic and strategic vision of the school and ensure there are competent and resourceful staff
to support its delivery in all areas of school life,
• Interface regularly with the Chair of Council to build on the collaborative, respectful and forward-thinking relationships currently characterising governance at the school,
• Lead an effective executive team of educational (Deputy Heads, Head of the Junior School) and
operational (Bursar, Marketing and Business Manager) professionals in realising the educational, pastoral,
extra-mural, financial, infrastructural and environmental goals of the school.
• Collaborate with the leadership of DSG’s brother schools, St Andrew’s College and St Andrew’s Prep, in
fulfilment of the joint vision of this vital family of schools.
• Ensure that DSG is alive to the opportunities and issues in society and in global learning and teaching to ensure an inclusive, quality and relevant schooling experience for all DSG girls,
• Work proactively to protect and enhance the stature, contribution and integrity of the school with the wider DSG community and stakeholders.

Position Overview:
Ubuntu is looking for passionate individuals who are committed to implementing progressive educational models in the classroom and to supporting children in grades R-8. Candidates should have the desire to learn and grow with the Ubuntu School and constantly be learners as well as teachers, alongside the children.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide direct instruction in Ubuntu’s chosen curriculum for students in grades R-8
- Provide small group targeted instruction for identified groups and individual students.
- Assess students using Ubuntu’s tools to determine levels and instructional support
- Maintain an organized system and accessible location for the storage and circulation of all curriculum and assessment materials
- Analyze data and provide instructional feedback and recommendations
- Coach and support new teachers in the classroom

Required Qualifications:
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Education

- Teaching Experience in Foundation Phase
- Demonstrated expertise in content, curriculum development, student learning, test analysis, and supporting teachers
- Instructional expertise demonstrated through model teaching, team- teaching, video presentations, etc
- Excellent communication skills and an understanding of how to facilitate professional growth in adults
- Flexibility in adapting to new environments and new curriculums
- Strong commitment to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Ubuntu School
- Experience in analyzing data and using results to modify curricula
- Excellent judgment, growth mindset, communication, and creative problem-solving skills
