Purpose of the Job

To manage and faciliate the operations of the business to optimize and sustain levels of plant production

What you’ll be doing

•    Drive operations excellence strategy and improvement in production capacity by line-balancing 
•    Sequencing changeovers, driving implementation of operations excellence initiative to create a culture of process improvement, 
•    Develop business insights derived from process understandings to help internal and external customers identify constrains in their processes and highlight potential areas of improvement
•    Reduce the Stock Loss with Vessel discharges. 
•    Ensure all risk of cross contamination is identified prior to Blending. 
•    Reducing manufacturing cost through downtime reduction 
•    Improved production through-put and by removing cycle time inefficiencies & waste to improve all production inefficiency.
•    Improving plant manufacturing through-put, performance and reducing total cost of quality non-conformance by focusing on: Safety, Schedule, Cost and Quality 
•    Ensure Production constrains are identified timeously. 
•    Drive End-to-end Operations Process Transformation
•    Ensure Equipment Integrity & Quality Assurance is met. 
•    Implement standardized operations KPI framework.
•    Ensure Shutdown plan start up plan with SOP.
•    Drive Closure of all internal and external Plant audits. 
•    Be actively involved in conceptual and basic engineering of all Operation Project

What you’ve done Before

 

EXPERIENCE MINIMUM

NQF Level 7 (Degree in Chemical Engineering)

5 years Operational Excellence experience within Refining/ Lubes Manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of ISO systems ISO 9001, 14001
2 years People Management experience

ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE

Green belt certification
5 years Lubricants/Petrochem industry
4 years Petrochemical 
Lean & 6 Sigma experience

Exciting Challenges

  • Provide technical support/advice to internal customers by liaising with OEM on mechanical including packaging failures and participating in Plant Shutdown tasks to ensure efficient business operations.
  •  Execute Mechanical infrastructure maintenance activities through the execution of all infrastructure programs, thereby ensuring reliability and integrity of equipment and systems.
  •  Efficient co-ordination and completion of relevant documents and provide feedback to supervisor on all completed work by submitting the execution documentation for work pack, statutory compliance, and management of change process in order to update the schedule
  •  Ensure tasks are executed as per written procedures and per weekly plan and schedule by interacting with the relevant teams to schedule tasks to be completed during an outage and providing input into the weekly maintenance plan to ensure maintenance is carried out as per agreed timelines
