Orlando Pirates are on the brink of Caf Champions League quarter-final qualification and a huge cash windfall.

With a win against Belouizdad on Sunday, Jose Riveiro’s side will seal their spot in this season’s Caf Champions League quarter-finals. That comes with a serious cash windfall of R17 million. That would come as a welcome boost for the club and its shareholders and also take a lot of pressure off their clash against Al Ahly in Egypt.

Pirates have several blue-chip matches on the horizon. A glamour fixture against Champions League holders Al Ahly might not be significant in terms of qualification, but it’s the type of test Pirates fans would love to see their side pass.
