Orlando Pirates Transfer News: Skilful midfielder leaving this month?
A section of Orlando Pirates supporters will not appreciate this report. Is Karim Kimvuidi heading out?
KARIM KIMVUIDI TO LEAVE ORLANDO PIRATES ON LOAN?
The Congolese star arrived at Maritzburg United in 2021 as a shy 19-year-old. Coach Ernst Middendorp trained him for over six months before Kimvuidi finally secured a work permit. Kimvuidi, with his wonderful touch and elegance on the ball, dazzled Maritzburg United’s fans for two seasons before the big clubs came calling. Orlando Pirates won the race in July 2023. With 18 months spent at the Sea Robbers, the former DC Motema Pembe star has only made five starts in black and white. As an attacking midfielder, Kimvuidi is competing with Patrick Maswanganyi, Kabelo Dlamini and most recently, Thuso Moleleki and Azola Tshobeni, who have both overtaken the 22-year-old Congolese in the pecking order.
According to Soccer Laduma, Orlando Pirates are considering a loan deal for Kimvuidi.
“It’s like this because they don’t want him to just sit on the bench or in stands for a long time,” a source told the outlet. “He is still young and he needs to keep on playing and a loan move would give him that chance. No, I can’t say there is a team but Pirates want to loan him out so that he gets more game-time.
“At the moment, they wouldn’t want to sell him permanently. It’s just to give him more game-time. He has one and half years still on his contract and they can’t just let him go like that. After all, you should know that he is still young and he has a great future ahead of him and that’s why they invested in and the loan move would help him grow as a player.”
