Key Responsibilities

The role of the P40 Shop Assistant/ Cashier involves the following duties to be fulfilled:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
  • Accurately process customer purchases at the checkout.
  • Assist customers in selecting products to enhance their shopping and encourage additional sales.
  • Answer customer phone inquiries and resolve their questions or requests promptly.
  • Keep customer records accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure shelves are well-stocked, neatly arranged, and visually appealing.
  • Replenish stock as needed and introduce new products on the shelves.
  • Display accurate pricing and maintain attractive store displays.
  • Collaborate with the team to receive and organize deliveries using store tools and systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store.
  • Prepare the store for the next day’s business.
  • Support the manager in preparing for stock checks.
  • Care for store equipment, ensuring it remains safe and in good condition.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete daily banking tasks properly.
  • Understand and contribute to sales targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Assist in efforts to prevent stock losses and increase profitability.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:

  • Grade 12.
  • Experience in Retail, Cashier, Customer Service, Sales, Store Associate and Store Assistant.
  • Must be residing within 15km from the job.
  • Clear criminal record.
