We are currently seeking applications from dynamic individuals for the following positions:

Credit Risk Analyst (Ref: CRA005)

  • Position: Credit Risk Analyst (Ref: CRA005)
  • Grade: D1 – D5
  • Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable
  • Centre: Risk Management division, Pretoria

Purpose of the role:
To manage credit risk by way of identifying, quantifying, and reporting on various forms of credit
risk (e.g. pricing, volatility, and interest rate risk). To conduct ongoing research and
understanding of financial markets to understand trends and risks to ensure informed credit risk
recommendations. Prepare Credit reports, advising appropriate credit risk ratings, pricing,
exposure and making investment recommendations with respect to the individual transactions

Requirements:

  • B Com Degree (Finance/Accounting), BSc (Actuarial/Mathematics) or any related Commercial
    degree
  • Postgraduate Finance or Investment-related Degree, CFA, FRM, CAIA (Highly Advantageous)
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in due diligence assessments of credit risk in Corporate
    Finance and Project Finance Deals.
  • Credit risk experience in both unlisted and listed credit is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Credit Assessment Techniques for various asset classes
  • Knowledge of Financial Modeling and Valuation techniques
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for investments in Asset Management

Duties:

  • To provide expert advice on credit risk factors that may influence investment decisions made
    on PIC portfolios for both listed and unlisted investments.
  • To participate in due diligence of investment considerations and to provide independent risk
    assessment detailed reports, with recommendations to the various committees to inform
    decision-making.
  • To assess investment considerations against both the client mandates and the PIC’s internal
    investment-related and other applicable policies and processes, which assessment will form
    part of the overall risk assessment to inform decision-making.
  • To conduct ongoing risk monitoring, at investment and portfolio level for reporting to PIC
    Management, Client and Board (as required)
  • To participate in ad-hoc credit and investment risk-related projects and activities related to
    improving ways of measuring, managing, reporting and/or minimizing risk while ensuring
    maximized return on all PIC portfolios.
  • To participate in quarterly monitoring of investments (as required), including impairment
    calculations.
  • To participate in ad-hoc requests from clients and/or PIC management to provide input into the
    risks and opportunities for portfolio optimisation.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of credit risk and investment risk processes to enable
    continued robustness of PIC’s risk management.
  • To conduct ongoing research and understanding of financial markets to understand trends and
    risks to ensure informed credit risk recommendations.

  • Ability to travel (domestically and internationally) to conduct due diligence

Head – Information Security

  • Position: Head – Information Security
  • *Job Grade: E1 – E3
  • Ref: RPTS05
  • Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable
  • Centre: Public Investment Corporation, Pretoria

Purpose of the role:
Responsible for the development and implementation of PIC Information Security
Management Strategy in line with PIC’s business strategy. Analyse internal and external
environments and implement Information Security capabilities and competencies to prevent
information security breaches and data loss that might lead to PIC reputational damage,
revenue loss and staff productivity loss. Management includes the management and
supervision of staff.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or any IT-related Degree
  • ITIL Certification;
  • Cobit Certification;
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISA)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • ISO 27000 certified or extensive knowledge and experience industry and sectoral research
  • 6+ years experience in IT Security Management2+ years experience in Financial Services
  • IT Governance experience – COBIT or ITIL
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with IT Controls, Security architecture, & IT Security
  • 5+ years of IT Risk Management experience

Duties:

  • Define and implement PIC Information Security Management strategy;
  • Analysis of internal and external environment and implement IS and RM capabilities that
    will enable the organization to achieve its strategic and operational objectives;
  • Benchmark and research on IS and RM trends and best practices;
  • Develop and implement effective IS and RM architecture in line with business architecture;
  • Define and implement IS and RM standards and frameworks;
  • Develop and implement IS and RM policies, processes and procedures and acquire
    technologies to implement such policies to enhance PIC’s IT Security environment and
    reduce Cyber-attacks and penetration risks;
  • Implement effective Vulnerability management programs;
  • Continuously monitor and report on IT Security Risks, Cyber-attacks, IT controls and the
    effectiveness of those controls;
  • Implement control self-assessment processes to ensure proactive risk management of the
    department;
  • Partner with enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit departments on new
    developments (internally) and evaluating (external) developments while monitoring and
    mitigating the associated risks
  • Develop and build an early warning system to identify breaches and non-compliance;
  • Evaluate the policies, procedures, and processes related to IT governance and ensure their
    compliance with regulations and international best practice;
  • Report on the regulatory environment and the organization’s compliance with that
    environment;
  • Continuously develop systems and processes to improve IT Governance;
  • Build and develop global best practices relating to IT Governance.
  • Lead and Manage IT Security team
