What’s the Job About?

As a Picker and Packer, your main goal will be to ensure goods are picked accurately from customer orders and packed efficiently onto shelves or prepared for shipment. This role is vital in keeping our operations smooth and customers satisfied.

Key Responsibilities:

Picking:

• Accurate Selection: Ensure the precise picking of stock based on the picking list.
• Verification: Double-check that the correct items are selected, ensuring weights, dimensions, and other details are marked.
• Reporting: Highlight any discrepancies or issues related to product quantity or quality.

Packing:

• Order Fulfillment: Pack products in designated areas/bin locations with care.
• Product Safety: Wrap products securely to prevent damage during transportation.
• Dispatch Prep: Ensure items are correctly prepared and ready for dispatch.

Warehouse Assistance:

• Stock Management: Keep the warehouse organized by ensuring all items are stored neatly and in the right places.
• Loading/Unloading: Help with loading and unloading products from vehicles or containers.
• Stock Counts: Conduct regular stock checks to keep inventory accurate.
• Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse by performing routine cleaning tasks.

SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) Management:

• Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations to keep the workplace safe for everyone.
• Incident Reporting: Report any unsafe situations or incidents promptly.
• PPE Use: Always wear personal protective equipment and ensure a safe work environment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Qualifications:

• Education: A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.

Experience:

• Experience: At least 1 year in a similar role is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Numerical Skills: Basic math skills for inventory counts and order checks.
• Warehouse Operations: Familiarity with best practices in warehouse operations.
• ISO Standards: Awareness of ISO Standard requirements related to warehouse functions.

Bonus Points:

• Driver’s License: A valid Code 8 license is an advantage.
• Forklift License: Experience with forklifts is a plus.
