Rape-accused Donell Mbele joins in demanding justice for Cwecwe
Donell Mbele, the son of renowned actress Sonia Mbele, has ignited a wave of criticism online after speaking out on the heartbreaking case of seven-year-old Cwecwe, who was allegedly s.e.xually assaulted at school.
Mbele, currently standing trial on rape charges himself, took to Instagram to share a screenshot highlighting the brutal nature of Cwecwe’s case.
The gesture, however, has been met with widespread backlash, with many questioning the sincerity and timing of his involvement.

A post shared by entertainment outlet MDNews on X (formerly Twitter) summed up the controversy: “Donell Mbele, on trial for rape, calls for justice for Cwecwe.”
The post quickly went viral, stirring debate over the perceived irony of Mbele speaking out against gender-based violence while facing serious allegations of his own.
“Donell Mbele, who is currently facing trial on rape charges, has publicly called for #JusticeForCwecwe,” MDNews posted.
“The irony of his plea has sparked debate, with some questioning his stance while he remains entangled in his own legal battle.”
