Remember the name: Springbok’s next big thing!
The Springboks have become synonymous with depth, littered with world-class options in every position; Rassie Erasmus can field two teams that would give the All Blacks a run for their money.
Erasmus has mastered the art of mystery through his unprecedented ability to switch between players – opposition, fans and pundits rarely able to predict his team selections.
The World Cup-winning coach fielded fifty players in thirteen games last year, handing out several debuts and recalling the likes of breakout star Aphelele Fassi, who last made a Springbok team two years before.
With the 2027 World Cup edging ever closer, Erasmus will be using the next two years to assess all his options, opening the door for more debutants – Sharks youngster Jurenzo Julius could be one of the beneficiaries.
A future Springbok?
Otherwise known as ‘The Boogieman’, the Namibian Paul Roos educated centre is already turning heads at 20 years old, earning a call-up to Springboks camp earlier this month.
The versatile backline player will be twenty-three by the time the next World Cup kicks off, and if he continues to impress, he could be in Erasmus’ plans for the next generation of Springboks.

The Boks first 2025 camp
“The focus at this camp will be to get everyone on the same page for the 2025 season, which will be vital in laying a good foundation for us to build on with a challenging campaign coming up,” Erasmus confirmed.
“Most of these players have formed part of our structures at some stage in the last seven years, and their experience and familiarity with the way we do things at the Springboks will be invaluable in guiding the younger players, while others have been exposed to our structures before, so they have a good understanding of the way we operate,
“I’m also excited for the new players in the mix, who have made their mark at franchise level, and we are excited to see them receive this opportunity to get a taste of what is expected of them at the highest level.”
