‘Saleng can’t take Orlando Pirates’ blessings to Kaizer Chiefs!’

Monnapule Saleng has been largely unsettled at Orlando Pirates this season for reasons undisclosed by him or the club.

Saleng has seen his game time drop drastically and there have been questions over his future at Pirates.

Saleng linked to Chiefs

Previously a key player, Saleng has not even been at training on more than a few occasions this season. This has led to speculation over his off-field behaviour or a possible fall out with coach Jose Riveiro. Being a Pirates fan darling, the supporters have become divided on their opinion on the situation. Others want clarity on the situation before placing judgement. Others have already concluded that the rumours of a high salary demand are true and are labelling him greedy. While some are siding with the player saying that he should be backed more by Riveiro and the club management.

Now amid rumours that arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs could be interested, Jwara, a prominent Pirates fan has warned Saleng.

Pirates fan warns him against that

“Let’s hope the issues between Saleng and the club are resolved because our left wing position is lacking. As Pirates supporters, we will be deeply disappointed if a star player like Saleng decides to take the wrong path and join another team. The club gave him a platform to showcase his talent. He won’t survive without Pirates. We understand that as a footballer, sometimes you need game-time or money, but we will never be happy if he leaves Pirates. If that happens, we will wish him what we wished for [Thembinkosi] Lorch, saying, ‘Hamba juba bayokuqutha phambili.’ The Orlando Pirates blessings belong to Pirates, you can’t take them to [Mamelodi] Sundowns or [Kaizer] Chiefs.” Said Jwara to KickOff.com
