Purpose of the Job
This program is designed to identify learning needs, provide top-notch training, and ensure compliance with fire safety standards. As a trainee firefighter, you’ll gain hands-on experience and expertise while working with some of the best in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply SHE best practices during all training activities.
- Facilitate learning through formal sessions and on-the-job training.
- Evaluate learning outcomes to measure performance improvements.
- Revise and update learning materials as needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance safety measures.
- Participate in housekeeping activities and safety improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12 with mathematical literacy or equivalent (minimum).
Certifications (Must Have):
- Firefighter 1 (NFPA 1001).
- Firefighter 2 (NFPA 1001).
- Level 3 First Aid certification.
- Hazmat Awareness (NFPA 1072/472).
- Hazmat Operations (NFPA 1072/472).
Experience:
- 0–5+ years of relevant experience in firefighting or emergency response.
Required Skills and Attributes

- Ability to manage complex tasks effectively.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Understanding of emergency preparedness and safety principles.
