The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) SRD grant status determines whether beneficiaries receive payments each month.

Therefore, recipients need to know what to do next after receiving each particular status to be able to eventually get approved and paid. SASSA has since shared detailed information on what the statuses mean and the next steps to take for each one.

SASSA SRD GRANT STATUS MEANINGS

In a document shared on its website, the agency listed the different SASSA SRD grant status. They further explained their meaning and what beneficiaries should do.

APPLICATION COMPLETE

This status means that the applicant has completed the re-application process. They will then be verified for the grant each month.

Recipients are required to check their verification and payment status every month on the SRD website.

BANKING DETAILS PENDING

For this status, an application or re-application was received without the banking details or preferences being provided.

The applicant should then submit their banking details via the website.

RE-APPLICATION PENDING

‘Re-application pending’ SRD grant status means no re-application was submitted on the site.

Recipients are required to submit an application online.

PERIOD (EG. APRIL) PENDING

The meaning for this status is that a re-application was successfully received. The verification of the application for that particular period or month is pending.

Beneficiaries will then need to check their status later in the month for an update.

PERIOD (EG. APRIL) APPROVED

This means the application was approved for the period or month.

So recipients should find out when they will receive payments by checking the pay day field. If it doesn’t show it means no payment has been processed as yet.

PERIOD (EG. APRIL) DECLINED

This application has been declined for that month or period and the reason is provided.

To be reconsidered, applicants can submit a request if they feel that the reason is invalid.

CANCELLED SRD GRANT STATUS

A ‘cancelled’ SRD grant status means it has been cancelled. Recipients can reinstate the grant if they wish to do so.
