The role:

To execute production or logistics activities according to the Schedule and operate the physical assets, plant and equipment as defined by HSEC requirements, the Operations standards, and operating procedures.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Operates equipment, evaluates onsite conditions, makes tactical decisions, and determines appropriate responses
• Responsible for adhering to operational requirements, principles and procedures, maintenance, and training in the use of appropriate personal protection equipment
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards
• Ensure timeous response to a wide variety of incidents
• Responsible for upkeep of equipment and ensures equipment is safely and securely stored

• Ensure that maintenance checks are scheduled and complete at the required standard
• Conduct the pre-shift checks
• Look at task list and list priorities for the day and record the findings on a pre-shift check book
• Complete pre-shift prior to operating machine
• Grass cutting and planting of grass on the Rehab area

Requirements:

• Grade 10 (Math, Science and English)
• A valid machine license for a Front-End Loader
• Subject to a Dover test and must meet the minimum requirements
• Demonstrate oral English language proficiency
• In-depth knowledge of mining machinery
• In-depth knowledge of safety rules and regulations
• Valid driver’s licence is essential
• In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness

Advantageous:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in operating a Front End Loader within a mining environment
• Competent A, Mining Equipment Training
