Job Description

Introduction

Clicks is looking for a Shop Assistant/ Cashier to provide excellent service by efficiently managing customer interactions, point of sale (POS) operations, and in-store merchandising, resulting in a positive customer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

The role of the Shop Assistant/ Cashier involves the following duties and responsibilities to be fulfilled:

• Effectively manage all POS operational tasks promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure accurate scanning of merchandise and processing of payments, including handling clubcard rewards.
• Safeguard cash handling procedures at all times.
• Actively promote and enroll customers in the Clicks Clubcard program to meet participation targets.
• Inform customers about current promotions to enhance sales and ensure they “feel good and pay less.”
• Deliver outstanding customer service as a brand ambassador, offering friendly and professional assistance.
• Maintain merchandising and housekeeping standards in line with store and visual guidelines.
• Support the company’s vision of being the first-choice health and beauty retailer by embodying its values.
• Stay informed on product details, promotions, and events to provide accurate customer information.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:

• Experience in a customer-facing role within retail/FMCG operations.
• Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF Level 4.
• Minimum 50% in Maths and English at Grade 12 level.
