Soweto derby tickets now on sale: But HURRY!

The sold-out sign for the upcoming Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs may arrive sooner than anticipated.

On Wednesday, it was announced that 40 000 tickets were left for the Betway Premiership blockbuster at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 1 February.

However, the most recent update suggests that only 15 000 tickets now remain.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15:30.

Diarise now: the second Soweto derby of the 2024/2025 Betway Premiership season will take place on Saturday, 3 May.

What’s still to play?

Ahead of the Soweto derby, Orlando Pirates still have three matches to play.

They will be in action away against Egyptian giants Al Ahly in a CAF Champions League group stage clash on Saturday, 18 January at 18:00 (SA time).

A Betway Premiership clash on the road against Royal AM follows next on Thursday, 23 January (19:30).

The Soweto giants will then be in action in a Nedbank Cup Round of 32 knockout match against Richards Bay – once again away from home – on Sunday, 26 January at 15:30.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs have two matches before hosting their arch-rivals in the Soweto derby.

Amakhosi will host Sekhukhune United in Betway Premiership fixtures at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday, 19 January (15:30), followed by a Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash against minnows Free Agents on Sunday, 26 January at 18:00.
