 SPAR South Africa, in collaboration with Catalyx, proudly presents the YES4YOUTH Programme, a transformative initiative designed to empower unemployed South African youth by equipping them with hands-on work experience. This programme provides a stepping stone for young individuals to develop their skills, gain valuable industry exposure, and enhance their future career prospects.

Objective: The initiative is committed to fostering employment opportunities by offering quality work experience that allows participants to unlock their career potential.

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Host Organisations: SPAR Group Divisions, Central Office, and Distribution Centres
  • Implementation Partner: Catalyx

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this exceptional learnership opportunity, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Nationality: Must be a South African citizen with a clear criminal record.
  • Age Requirement: Applicants should be between 18 and 28 years old.
  • Education: Successful completion of Matric/Grade 12 is mandatory.
  • Employment Status: Candidates must be unemployed and not engaged in full-time studies.
  • Willingness to Work: Must be open to working retail hours and shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

This programme welcomes individuals with diverse qualifications across various fields, including:

  • Trade Qualifications: Engineering, Plumbing, Electrical, or related technical disciplines.
  • Degree Graduates: Candidates holding degrees in the following fields are encouraged to apply:
    • Science & Pharmacy
    • Business & Accounting
    • Human Resource Management (HRM)
    • Logistics & Supply Chain Management (SCM)
    • Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ)
    • Marketing & Packaging
    • Information Technology (IT)
