SIYA KOLISI PENS TRIBUTE TO STEVEN KISHOFF AMID RETIREMENT
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi dubbed “spicy plum” Steven Kishoff a legend, as he retired. The Stormers confirmed Kishoff’s retirement on Tuesday 25 December, after the rugby player suffered a serious neck injury.
“Thank you spicy plum @steven_kitshoff ! You are a legend my brother ❤️ now enjoy the @bombsquad_rsa 🍺,” read the caption.
“❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” commented Kishoff.
Kishoff sustained a career-threatening injury while playing for the Currie Cup in the Western Cape. He had just returned from a serious knee injury just before this. Now, a specialist neurosurgeon says he is at high risk of another injury if he plays again.
“Following an extensive rehabilitation process he has been left with significantly reduced rotation of his neck and the advice from a specialist neurosurgeon was that there would be a high risk of another injury should he continue playing,” read a statement by the Stormers.
STEVEN KISHOFF’S WIFE SHOWS LOVE AMID RETIREMENT
Kishoff’s wife, Aimee also took to Instagram to pen a sweet and touching tribute to her husband. She expressed that she is proud of her husband, his hard work and dedication.
“My Dearest Steven, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how incredibly proud I am of everything you’ve achieved as a rugby player. Your hard work, dedication, and passion for the game have been nothing short of inspiring. Watching you grow, compete, and excel has been an absolute privilege,” she wrote.
She went on to say that she is proud of the person he is outside of the field as well.
“But beyond your incredible achievements on the field, I am even prouder of the person you are. Your kindness, strength, and character are qualities that make you so special, and they shine through in everything you do. As you step into this new chapter and retire from rugby, I want you to know that I’m wishing you the most incredible journey ahead. I know this isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning of even more extraordinary things that await you,” she continued.
“You’ve already shown the world what you’re capable of, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
With all my love and pride, Aims 💕,” she added.
