Stellenbosch University is currently holding a vacant post for Junior Technical Assistant based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape

Duties/Pligte

• Cleaning the various laboratory spaces and equipment of the PDC;
• Cleaning glassware used in the PDC;
• Preparing media, solutions and buffers needed by the PDC;
• Preparing and caring for plant material used in the PDC;
• Assisting with routine testing of fungi, bacteria, nematodes, and viruses;
• Assisting with taking calls and signing for parcel deliveries.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

• Matric;
• A quick learner;
• Being punctual and on time;
• Good at functioning in a team;
• A valid driver’s licence;
• Good verbal communication skills;

• The ability to differentiate among closely related images;
• Good systematic organisation skills;
• The ability to work accurately;
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

• At least have some experience working in a laboratory environment;
• The ability to function within a multilingual university environment.
