Job Advert Summary TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation. Our work culture is adapted to the constantly evolving South African health care environment and will suit solution-driven team players interested in opportunities for career development while working to connect people with care.Purpose of the position:To conduct out-reach activities in the sex worker community by providing current accurate health information, mobilisation of SWs to the mobile unit and linkage to care.  
Minimum Requirements Grade 10Must have a minimum of 1 – 3 years’ work experience in the sex industry or experience as a peer educator Fluent in English and African languagesClear criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities Identify SW hotspots for mobilisationEducate sex workers on risk reduction and prevention interventions and record accordinglyConduct outreach programmes to provide male and female condom demonstrationDistribute male and female condoms and lube and record accordinglyAssist team in follow-up of referral of all new cases – HIV, TB, STIs and other health issuesSuccessfully refer SW to mobile health servicesAssist clients with appropriate referrals for other issues related to psychosocial, (e.g. paralegal, rape, trafficking, substance abuse, etc.)Provide accurate and current health information to sex workers using a variety of delivery strategiesAssist with the development of new health promotion materialsMaintain relations with health services managers, indoor managers/owners and other gate keepers/stakeholdersUse the attendance register for counting no of male and female present during the awarenessMonitor and evaluate the impact of outreach activities and compile a summary of activities to be submitted to the line manager on a weekly basisReport back to the Line Manager any positive or negative feedback from the sex work industry and general communityAssist with managing crises, if neededProvide support and encouragement to SWsAny other duties as assigned by the line manager
