,Position Overview:
UNICEF is actively seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Consultancy – Project Management Assistant (Digital) within its Global Office of Research and Foresight in Florence. This is a remote, work-from-home position expected to last approximately 10 months. The role is categorized as a consultancy and focuses on various areas including child protection, program management, research, and monitoring and evaluation.

UNICEF Innocenti:
UNICEF Innocenti, the Global Office of Research and Foresight, is dedicated to research and foresight initiatives that shape effective policies and practices for children’s welfare. A key focus of the office is on Digital Engagement and Protection, aiming to gather evidence and insights about children’s experiences in the digital realm. Our work encompasses significant research projects in over 40 countries, particularly in the global South, through initiatives such as Global Kids Online and Disrupting Harm.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected consultant will play a critical role in supporting the Digital Engagement and Protection unit through:

Project Management Support:

    • Monitor project implementation against established milestones.
    • Anticipate risks and suggest mitigation strategies to enhance performance.
    • Maintain and update project documents, including results and risk frameworks, Gantt charts, and implementation plans.
    • Prepare regular internal monitoring documents to keep the team and partners informed about project progress.
    • Assist in budget monitoring, contract management, and invoicing, with timely updates to supervisors.

    Publication Facilitation:

      • Act as a liaison for vendors, track production timelines, and assist in drafting Terms of References for publications.

      Administrative and Event Support:

        • Aid in recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions and coordinating interviews.
        • Process contracts for consultants and vendors, including documentation and filing.
        • Provide logistics support for events, training sessions, and consultations, ensuring effective communication and coordination with all stakeholders.
        • Maintain team calendars and take meeting minutes to streamline communication.

        Qualifications:
        To be considered for this consultancy role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

        • A university degree in a relevant field such as social science, project management, or administration.
        • At least three years of professional experience in project management support and administration. Experience within an international organization is advantageous.
        • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with integrated management information systems.
        • Excellent organizational, planning, time-management, and communication skills.
        • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a dispersed team.
        • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Spanish, French, or Arabic is a plus.
        • Previous exposure to UNICEF Operations or similar international organizations is desirable.
        • Experience in event logistics and coordination with external partners is an asset.
        • Familiarity with developing countries and emergency contexts is beneficial.
