The Department also offers an alternative three-year degree in Accounting, which is accredited by the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).
 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Facilitating learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, primarily in the area of Auditing and Accounting Information Systems. 
  • Assist with the integration of digital acumen into the core disciplines of the accounting programme, namely Auditing, Cost Accounting and Financial Management, Financial Accounting and Taxation.
  • Provide academic leadership and administration at subject level. 
  • Undertake curriculum development and assessment. 
  • Engage in academic administration.

Minimum Requirements

  • CA (SA) qualification and a relevant Master’s degree

The Dullah Omar Institute for Constitutional Law, Governance and Human Rights (the Institute) is a self-funded research institute in the Law Faculty at the University of the Western Cape. The Manager: CPS reports directly to the Director: Risk and Compliance and will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in financial risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, and financial technology

Minimum Requirements

The role is primarily devoted to the oversight, management, and delivery of academic administrative services, working in partnership with the Dean, Deputy Deans and chairpersons of academic departments. As the successful candidate you will have overall responsibility for the operational management of the Faculty’s academic administration and will work closely with the Faculty’s leadership, academics, administrators and students, as well as the Registrar’s office and Human Resources.

The successful incumbent will offer strategic support, guidance on policy formulation, and advice to the Faculty on every aspect of administration management. You will have the responsibility of putting into practice policy and administrative procedures in the Faculty as well as managing the Faculty Office staff and overseeing procedures within the Faculty.

       The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Facilitating a vision and mission for the administrative function of the Faculty;

The Department of Social Work in the CHS faculty, is committed to excellence in Community Development and Social Work Education, Practice and Research. We believe in justice, gender equity, human diversity and citizenship for all.  Currently, the following five Social Service Practitioner (SSP) occupations exist as a result from the review of the Social Service Professions Act 110 of 1978 as amended in 1998, and subsequent amendments, which transformed the social services sector, to be more inclusive of a broader range of social service practitioners (SSPs):  Social Workers, Community Development Practitioners, Child and Youth Care Workers, Early Childhood Development Practitioners, and Caregivers. 
The Department of Social Work has added the Community Development 4-year Bachelor degree to its SSP offerings in 2021 and is actively seeking candidates to fill a Community Development Lecturer position.  
The Department will prepare Community Development professionals for distinguished practice to facilitate collective processes in communities to effect psycho, social and economic development, through empowerment to enhance the capacity of people as active citizens through communities, organisations and networks. Appropriately qualified and experienced lecturers are thus set as a key priority. The successful candidate will be expected to join the programme on 1 January 2026. 

The successful candidate will have the following key performance areas and responsibilities:
