The Human Resources Office at UNU

The Human Resources Office (HR-KL) at UNU is a vital component of the Centre Administration, providing HR services to UNU’s global network of institutes and offices. Under the leadership of the Chief of Human Resources, the team manages HR policies, business processes, contract administration, and payroll services across 16 locations worldwide. This role in Putrajaya is integral to supporting the organization’s mission by ensuring efficient HR operations and compliance with UN standards.

Role and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Assistant will operate under the guidance of the Chief of Human Resources, playing a crucial role in processing consultant contracts and maintaining HR systems. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing procurement processes for consultancy and contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with UN rules.
• Assisting in financial transactions such as requisitions, purchase orders, receipting, and invoice processing across different UNU offices.
• Ensuring accurate processing of financial entitlements linked to consultant deliverables.
• Supporting audit preparations and year-end financial closing activities.
• Coordinating insurance enrollment requests for non-PSA consultants and maintaining the related records.
• Monitoring the disbursement of quarterly insurance invoices and resolving coverage issues.
• Supporting the implementation and testing of the Quantum Supply Chain Management (SCM) system, including developing user guides and providing end-user support.
• Assisting in HR functions such as recruitment logistics, interview scheduling, and documentation.

• Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of other UN official languages is advantageous.

Remuneration and Contract Details

The successful candidate will be offered a PSA contract with a competitive salary ranging approximately from MYR 41,398 to MYR 50,230 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave and health insurance coverage. The initial contract is for one year, with potential renewal based on performance and organizational needs, not exceeding six years of total service.
