Audio Visual and Graphic Designer

DIVISION: E-Learning DEPARTMENT: CAD
POST: Audio Visual and Graphic Designer POST Nº: 3209

JOB DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this post is to contribute to VUT strategic goal of quality
teaching and learning by developing technology enhanced graphics for CAD and VUT staff.

Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the designs comply with the institution brand identity and guidelines.
  • Create and designs technology enhanced artefacts for both print and digital
    mediums.
  • Manage and operate the one button studio for VUT staff.
  • Create and design audio visual teaching/ instructional aids for staff.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers for creating technological enhanced graphics
    for online modules.
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders about progress of projects
    and any issues that may arise.
  • Use visual communication and aesthetic principles, including theories about layout
    and composition.
  • Keep budget, time and production according to VUT policies Preparing mockups and
    presenting to VUT staff before deciding on a final design/concept.
  • Ensure that the artifacts meet expectations and requirements of VUT staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Public Relations or Diploma in Graphic Design or Multimedia
    Production
  • Have a strong, well-rounded portfolio that showcases your individual design
    aesthetic.
  • Experience in the use of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and
    InDesign, After Effects an advantage
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience with Audio Visual and Graphic design

Skills And Competencies:

Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models

  • Facilitation and report writing
  • Processes and standards for planning and implementing instructional design and
    development.
  • Instructional technology media and materials development and implementation
    principles
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will turn data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, technical proficiency.

Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other
    strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to
    locate and correct code problems.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a related field such as:

Experience:

  • 2 Years of experience working as a data analyst or related field
  • Experience with data analysis tools:
    o Power BI: Experience creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
    o Familiarity with Excel, SQL, or other data management tools.
  • Knowledge of data manipulation and visualization:
    o Ability to clean, organize, and analyze datasets.
    o Experience creating clear, actionable insights from data.
  • Proven understanding of databases and querying:
    o Experience with SQL or similar querying languages to extract and manipulate data
    from databases.

Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
Research and Innovation: Provide leadership in research activities; Develop research capacity to
enhance research outputs within the Faculty; Develop and promote postgraduate study and
supervise post-graduate research projects; Supervise Masters/Doctoral students.
Industry Relationship Building: Liaise with industry, professional bodies and education
institutions nationally and internationally with regard to post graduate issues.
Community Engagement/Niche Research Focus Area: Build and strengthen community
engagement initiatives in the department by creating research focus areas linked with community
engagement; Provide leadership in the development of the faculty’s research niche areas; Enhance
the participation of the different centres in the faculty towards community based projects. Institute
