Venue changed for Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs match
Kaizer Chiefs have announced a change of venue for their upcoming Betway Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The match is set to take place on 1 March however the venue appears to have been changed. Originally scheduled for Loftus Stadium, it will now be held at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
“The home team will open them up soon. There was a change of venue. The match will now take place at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday,” Kaizer Chiefs said in a tweet.
Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns to play in Lucas Moripe Stadium
Amakhosi were supposed to be in action this weekend against Royal AM but the match has since been postponed. Downs on the other hand, maintained their 12 lead gap in the Betway Premiership following a 4-1 against TS Galaxy.
Kaizer Chiefs go into the Mamelodi Sundowns game having lost to SuperSport United 4-1 midweek. The club did mention that they might organise a friendly match this weekend to keep their players fit and focused ahead of the big clash.
With Loftus Versfeld hosting more than 50 000 supporters, it makes less sense why such a big game will be moved to Lucas Moripe Stadium which has less than 20 000 seats.
Can Chiefs find a way to beat the Brazilians next weekend?
