What you will do
The Head of Compliance will be responsible for ensuring that Volvo Group Southern Africa complies with its outside regulatory and legal requirements as well as internal policies and bylaws relating to areas covered by the Volvo Group Code of Conduct, by empowering and supporting management and staff in the relevant requirements, as well as overseeing that all internal and external notification and reporting requirements are met. The role must work with management and staff to identify and manage regulatory risk and ensure the implementation of AB Volvo/Volvo Trucks and Volvo Group Southern Africa compliance policies, including ensuring that the maintenance of documented and effective compliance procedures and controls are consistent with internal standards, business goals and attitude to risk. The role will coordinate and drive harmonisation in joint company compliance related issues.
The role is a member of the Volvo Trucks Executive Leadership Team as well as Volvo Group Southern Africa Country Management Team (CMT) in addition to being responsible (lead or participate) for any committee that the Company may determine. The position works in close collaboration with Volvo Trucks International and the Volvo Trucks Legal and Compliance, Business Control and People and Culture communities.

Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in a similar role in a large business environment
- Professional certification such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)
- Member of the Compliance Institute of SA
- Proficient in MS Office and in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

What you will do
The main purpose of the job is to provide diagnostic and fault-finding expertise for all auto-electrical work including advice to technicians where required.
Reporting: This Position reports to Team Leader.
Job Objectives:
- Fault tracing and diagnosis on Volvo Products.
- Apply knowledge and experience to interpret symptoms of “under performance” or failure of components.
- Follow directives provided in Workshop Manuals.
- Interpret Volvo manuals, specifications, directives and instructions.
- Produce work of acceptable standards as per instructions/directives.
- Produce and maintain work of acceptable standard.
- Follow repair and maintenance instructions and specifications provided in Manual and Service Literature.
- Follow procedures/processes to ensure vehicles/components are presented to customers in acceptable condition.
- Provide comprehensive and accurate reports of diagnosis, assessment of component/part failures, observations, actions and recommendations.
- Document observations, actions, recommendations and job cards and relevant service/information sheets.
- Follow Instructions from Management and supervisors concerning work allocated and produce and maintain work of a Volvo standard.
- Carry out work allocated i.e. job cards.
- Carry out the work allocated to the Volvo standard and specifications.
- On completion of the work completed the Job cards.
- When completing the job cards the following will be looked at:
- Complaint.
- Cause.
- Correction.
- Complete QC documentation.
- Complete servicing schedules.
- Parts invoicing.
- Vehicle standard times.
- Complete the job cards in such a manner so as that the service advisor can interpret the information correctly.
- Hours worked are reflection of the job card.
- When completing the job cards the following will be looked at:
- Ensure that House keeping is maintained to the Volvo standard and the management requirement.
- All tooling is maintained.
- Work area is as required by management and the Volvo prescription.
- Store the equipment as prescribed by management.
- Assist when mechanical repairs are required.
- When there is insufficient auto electrical work assist in mechanical repairs as when requested by the supervisor.
- Compliance to ISO 9001 and Safety.
- All process in your area of responsibility are following ISO standard.
- Ensure the safety process are followed.
- Ensure the Safety Act and Regulation is adhered to.
Qualification & Job Experience
- Matric/N3.
- Qualified Auto Electrician.
- Health and safety training courses.
- 3 years in maintenance and repairs of commercial vehicles.
- Volvo Experience – will be an advantage
Key Competencies
- Ability to read all relevant measuring equipment.
- Must be willing to work standby and overtime.
- Knowledge/skills to effect correct repair work.
- Ability to apply correct interpretation of technical manuals and specifications in practice.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Must be in possession of a PRDP driver’s license.
- Computer literate.

Job Objectives:
To handle the full breakdown process in the required languages for all products supported within the department and according to the procedures.
To assure a proactive follow-up on open cases via the monitor info Standards and take over cases at the beginning of a shift.
To secure the financial arrangements related to a breakdown according to warranty, soft products and financial routines, answer questions of customers and dealers regarding these topics.
To escalate cases according to the escalation process.
To use the acquired technical understanding to communicate with all parties in a correct and clear way.
To participate actively in continuous improvement activities.
To develop and maintain a proactive working relationship with all employees and customers of all Volvo Group companies.
To take an active participation within the departmental team meetings (daily, monthly and Info sessions).
To be responsible for understanding the operational, strategies, objectives and KPI’s for the VAS breakdown operation.
