Position Overview

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, assisting with the day-to-day activities necessary to keep our processes running smoothly. This position demands a hands-on individual who is organized, dependable, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills. You will work under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager and collaborate with various departments to ensure the timely and accurate movement of goods in and out of the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management: Assist in the accurate tracking and management of inventory levels, ensuring that proper quantities are maintained without overstocking.
Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming products, inspect for damages or discrepancies, and report any issues to the Warehouse Manager.
Order Fulfillment: Prepare and pick orders for delivery according to customer specifications while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Shipping and Packaging: Package and label products for shipment, ensuring compliance with company standards and safety protocols.

Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks, utilizing appropriate equipment and adhering to safety guidelines.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily goals and assist in various warehouse projects as needed.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and assist in generating reports for management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Minimum of a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification; further qualifications in logistics or supply chain management will be an advantage.
Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred, but not mandatory.

Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy items regularly, as well as stand for extended periods.
Work Ethic: Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and teamwork is essential.
