Scottland FC is one of the newest teams in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (ZPSL), having gained promotion ahead of the 2025 season. Owned by businessman Pedzisayi ‘Scott’ Sakupwanya, the club has quickly become a major talking point in Zimbabwean football due to its high-profile signings and strong financial backing.

Khama Billiat Leads Star-Studded Scottland FC Squad

The club made a statement by signing Zimbabwean football icon Khama Billiat, and they expect him to play a pivotal role in their campaign. Other notable signings include 2024 Soccer Star of the Year Walter Musona, top scorer Lynoth Chikuhwa, and veteran defender Peter Muduhwa. With such a talented squad, expectations are high for Scottland FC to perform well in their debut season.

Financial Backing and Sponsorship Deals

According to The Herald, the club has secured a US$1.5 million per season sponsorship deal with Sakunda Holdings. Additionally, The Chronicle reports that IMC Communications, owned by businessman Wicknell Chivayo, has contributed another US$1 million to the club. These substantial sponsorships have significantly bolstered Scottland FC’s foundation, positioning them to compete effectively at the highest level in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Scottland FC’s PSL Debut Against Triangle FC

Scottland FC will officially begin their Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League journey on February 28, facing Triangle FC. The club boasts a strong squad and financial muscle, positioning itself to make an immediate impact in the league. It could also challenge for top honors in its maiden season.
