Wedding bells? Kelly Khumalo, Arthur continue to fuel rumours

KELLY KHUMALO AND ARTHUR MAFOKATE ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT PARTY?

On their Instagram feeds, Kelly Khumalo and Arthur Mafokate continued to fuel rumours that they are more than industry colleagues. 

The singer and music producer have been posting cozy images of themselves with cryptic captions.

Now, the “couple” has taken it one step further with rumours of an engagement party. Arthur posted a flyer for a “private party” featuring himself and Kelly that would take place on Sunday, 2 March. 

“Exclusive tickets” – of which only 50 were available – were on sale for R1000 per person. The dress code is “all white.” Arthur set the soundtrack to the post to US R&B singer Brian McKnight’s ballad Love of My Life.

Under the post, Arthur liked comments from confused followers who asked if the duo would be celebrating their wedding or engagement party.

If true, the duo could potentially be a “match made in heaven,” as both stars have a dramatic dating history.

Kelly Khumalo – who South Africans believe “curses” every man she romances – has dated the likes of Prosper Mkwaiwa, Jub Jub, Senzo Meyiwa, and Chad da Don, amongst others.

Arthur, who has several baby mamas – made headlines in 2018 when his ex-girlfriend and former protege Busisiwe “Cici” Twala accused him of trying to kill her.

The young woman accused the 999 Music founder of being sexually, emotionally, and physically abusive throughout their relationship.

JUST A PR STUNT?

While some believe a romance is brewing, others are convinced that Kelly Khumalo and Arthur Mafokate are simply teasing a duet.

In 2018, Kelly and rapper Chad da Don posted pics of their romance, which was initially a teaser for her music video, Dance Comigo. The “couple” reportedly dated on and off for a year before splitting.

It wouldn’t be the first time Kelly and Arthur have collaborated musically. In 2014, the musicians released the love song Nguye Lo.

And like they’ve done this time, the duo teased rumours of a romance after they got “married” in a music video for the single.
