When is the CAF Champions League quarterfinal draw?
The CAF Champions League quarterfinal draw is upon us, and EIGHT African teams are waiting with huge anticipation.
WHEN IS THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW
The draw for the quarterfinals of the 2025 CAF Champions League will take place on Thursday, 20 February in Doha, Qatar at 17:00 SA time.
As per CAF, the four teams that topped their respective groups will be seeded while the other four runners-up will be unseeded.
The seeded teams are Orlando Pirates (South Africa), AS FAR Rabat (Morocco), Al Hilal (Sudan), and Espérance (Tunisia).
The four unseeded teams are Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), MC Alger (Algeria), Al Ahly and Pyramids (both Egypt).
What does this mean?
This means Pirates can only draw Sundowns, MC Alger or Pyramids and not Al Ahly as they were in the same group.
For Sundowns, they can only be pitted against Al Hilal, Pirates or Al Ahly because they shared a group with AS FAR Rabat.
All eyes in South Africa will be on whether or not Pirates and Sundowns draw each other in the quarterfinals.
But for some, both teams playing each other in the CAF Champions League final will be a dream come true.
The first legs will be played on 1-2 April while the return legs are scheduled for 8-9 April 2025.
