Why Oswin Appollis won’t leave Polokwane for Chiefs or Pirates
Bafana winger Oswin Appollis, and Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates target, is one of the hottest commodities in the PSL, showing his worth at Polokwane City week after week.
The 23-year-old Cape Town native agreed on a move to Kaizer Chiefs during the offseason but was blocked from transferring after Polokwane’s chairman Johnny Mogaladi went ‘mysteriously’ missing during the last week of the winter window.
The business mogul won’t be able to do the same this time but could be saved by not having a suitable replacement for Appollis, which is enough to deem the deal off.
“It won’t be easy for them [Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates] in January,” KickOff confirmed.
“A deal in January leaves the club little chance to find a replacement. So, there is already that. Then if it’s a local team, then that’s another problem, you see. But it’s football, anything happens, but it would be crazy money for him now.”
Basadien to Pirates or Chiefs?
Another player being chased by Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs is Stellenbosch star Fawaaz Basadien, who could make a move before the end of the window as Pirates prepare a lucrative bid.
“With Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns having so far failed to sign Stellenbosch FC and Bafana Bafana left-back Fawaaz Basadien, Orlando Pirates have a plan, and they have joined the scene with the aim of signing him,” a source confirmed.
“They could offload captain Innocent Maela together with Paseka Mako to get Basadien. They have come up with that strategy as they want to strengthen their left-back position in the quest to conquer both locally and in Africa, and that is why they want to move in for Basadien. So, that’s what is believed to be their plan for now to attract Basadien to Pirates.”
Will Appollis sign in January?
