Sustainable Finance Hub: A New Era in Financing
As part of its response to the critical challenges of financing for development, UNDP has established the Sustainable Finance Hub (SFH). This innovative platform acts as a nexus for finance and innovation, leveraging UNDP’s substantial expertise and partnerships to mobilize resources for the SDGs. The SFH is dedicated to implementing UNDP’s private sector strategy and ensuring that private sector activities align with the 2030 Agenda.
In this context, the Administrative Analyst will play a pivotal role in the Sustainable Finance Hub Project Management Support Team, ensuring that administrative and operational strategies are effectively implemented across all SFH projects.
Responsibilities of the Administrative Analyst
The Administrative Analyst’s work is vital to the success of the Sustainable Finance Hub, and the individual in this role will be responsible for a wide range of duties:
Efficient Implementation of UNDP Administrative and Travel Strategies:
- Operational Strategies: The analyst will ensure that operational strategies are effectively executed, including travel management processes.
- Travel Data Analysis: Preparing comprehensive travel reports and insights will be essential for effective decision-making.
- Liaison with Travel Agencies: By coordinating travel arrangements and ensuring timely settlements of travel claims, the analyst will streamline travel-related operations.
- Support for Conferences and Workshops: Whether organizing national meetings or international forums, the Administrative Analyst will play a key role in logistics, catering, and technological arrangements.
Effective Operational Strategies:
- Compliance: Ensuring that administrative and logistics activities adhere to UN/UNDP rules and regulations will be a priority.
- Procurement Support: Engaging in the procurement of goods and services, including collecting quotations, will be part of the analyst’s responsibilities.
- Document Drafting: The analyst will support documentation pertinent to SFH operations, including reports and proposals.
Knowledge Building and Sharing
- Training Development: Creating and maintaining training materials on travel management will empower peers with essential knowledge.
- Best Practices Analysis: By analyzing lessons learned, the analyst will contribute valuable insights to enhance UNDP’s operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Competencies
Candidates interested in this role are required to have:
Education: A Master’s degree in Development Studies, Political, or Social Sciences, or related fields is essential. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree combined with an additional two years of relevant experience will be considered.
Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant experience for candidates with a Master’s degree or four years for those with a Bachelor’s degree in administration or travel management at either the national or international level.
Skills: Proficiency in IT software (including MS Word and Excel), with advanced skills in databases and web-based management systems, will be essential. Experience in travel arrangements, procurement processes, and project budget monitoring will be a distinct advantage.
